How Having a Clean Space is Correlated with Success

Atlantic Solutions prides itself on delivering premier service to our clients. That requires a lot of time and effort to make sure everything is done properly and things are where they need to be.

While Atlantic Solutions utilizes these methods for business, they can be applied into your everyday life to help you be successful. For instance, having a clean living space requires attention to detail, organization, discipline, and effort.

By implementing these into your everyday life, you’ll get into a routine that will help you achieve success because of these principles you are exercising. A simple act such as making your bed every morning may not seem like a lot, but they are proven to help you achieve more.

Discipline

No one wants to do chores, especially right after they’ve woken up. But starting the day on the right foot and making your bed, folding your clothes, and keeping your bathroom organized teaches you discipline. It’s the little things no one wants to do, but if you do it, you’ll get in the routine of accomplishing things you may not have wanted to do.

Organization

Staying organized is a great routine to get in because you can apply it to multiple aspects of your life. Organizational skills are highly valued in today’s labor market, and they’re appreciated by your peers. If you are ever in the situation where you have to entertain guests at your place, or simply have someone ask you a question in your office, people will notice and appreciate how organized you are.

Effort

Staying organized and disciplined requires a tremendous amount of effort, but it is almost always worth it. Having a clean place doesn’t just happen, and people know that. By being clean and organized, others will recognize the amount of effort you put forth to do so and it eventually translates to giving effort in other areas of your life. Effort is highly valued and sometimes tough to figure out. By staying on top of things and being clean, people will acknowledge your efforts.

Atlantic Solutions understands that these three principles apply to everyday life rather than just the business world. However, as mentioned above, they can certainly translate into long-term success. Who knew making your bed could help you be successful?

Our Prized HR Manager, Chavely Mendez, Gives an Inside Look at Her Job

Chavely Mendez is the Human Resources Manager here at Atlantic Solutions (Somerset, NJ) which is a position that holds a lot of responsibility. She handles all of the recruiting for the company, including all of the logistics and paperwork for new hires. Chavely also regularly analyzes and documents best practices for recruitment, while speaking to over 100 people per day. It’s safe to say that her position requires a certain degree of diligence, patience, organization, and an arsenal of people skills.

After college, Chavely worked in retail. However, she didn’t feel a passion towards the industry and was soon on the hunt for a position that would fill her needs.

“I had another company that wanted to hire me for a human resources position, but after Screen Shot 2017-06-27 at 11.20.16 AMmy first interview at Atlantic Solutions, I knew where I needed to be. The people were just so welcoming and friendly here and it actually made me feel really comfortable. My nerves were calmed and the environment just felt right. I was asked to come in for another interview at the first company I mentioned; but, instead, I interviewed again with Atlantic Solutions which was the best decision I’ve made.”

When she did come back for that second interview, Chavely felt the familiar comfort and ease that she did before. I bet you’re wondering if that same feeling held up once she was hired and started her career in Human Resources – well this is what she had to say about her job:

“What I love the most is performing behind the scenes and having a real, tangible sense of responsibility. I love helping DK help build his company. I love being able to talk to everyone before they are hired and that I get to show them around the office. I really love my job.”

She sure does have a strong passion for what she does. Another part of the Human Resources role is fostering relationships with coworkers in the workplace to maintain a positive morale and a teamwork mentality.

Screen Shot 2017-06-27 at 11.20.54 AM“We do something called “Team Night” where we bond with DK, the leaders, new employees, and the rest of the team. For instance, last night we went bowling. It’s a fun and engaging way to get to know each other on a more personal level outside of the workplace. Team night provides a stress-free environment where I can learn more about our employees’ goals and what they want to accomplish, which I think is important when trying to stimulate success.”

She speaks highly of her coworkers, stating that it’s easy to maintain both professional relationships as well as friendships outside of the office.

It is no question that Chavely is a brilliant Human Resources Manager and we’re so lucky to have her on the Atlantic Solutions team!

The President of Atlantic Solutions Shares Some of his Keys to Success and Thoughts on Failure

The president here at Atlantic Solutions (Somerset, NJ) works hard and was not afraid to tell us about it. He is keen on organization, work ethic, attitude, and family – all things that ensure his success. We were lucky to interview DK and hear some of his insight on success, failure, and all of the tools he uses to keep the ball rolling!Screen Shot 2017-05-31 at 1.54.13 PM

What does “success” mean to you?

“It means that everybody around me is taken care of and that they are doing well. We are planning on opening a new Atlantic Solutions location on June 19th and it is very important to me that the person that will be running that location will be trained properly and suited with the tools to operate efficiently. In order for me to be successful, I need to help others at the company achieve their goals, or else I’m not doing my job and I’m not succeeding. In terms of personal success, I also need everybody around me to be doing well. My family staying happy, healthy, and taken care of is the most important thing to me.”

Are there any habits that you have that help keep you on track for success?

Screen Shot 2017-05-31 at 1.56.25 PM“Whether it’s at home, in the airport, or in a hotel room – I’m always reading. Audio books are also helpful when I’m on the road. I’m always trying to grow and learn because it is imperative to stay sharp and to stay hungry. I also plan and organize everything I need to do from the beginning of every week starting on Sunday. ‘If you fail to plan you plan to fail’ is a motto that I live by.”

How do you look at failure?

“It’s all about how you perceive failure. Sure, you can stay deflated and down once you fail. But it’s really an opportunity to get back to the drawing board and improve for next time. It’s really not about the failure itself – it’s about what you do differently afterward that will determine if you succeed in life or not. Fall down nine times; get up ten!”

Why do you think some people fail and never get back up that tenth time?

“I think it mostly has to do with attitude. If you have a bad attitude about failure and do not see it is a necessary learning experience then you will not make it very far. It’s certainly a mindset that I like to promote here at Atlantic Solutions.”
