Getting To Know You: Atlantic Solutions College Edition [Q+A]

The rapid growth of Atlantic Solutions would not be possible without the dedication of our incredible team members. As we kick off the month of July, we thought we would take a moment to tell you more about some of the valuable team members who help to make Atlantic Solutions the company that it is today!

First, we spoke with Nick, who attended the University of Rhode Island.

We asked him, “What were some of the activities or organizations that shaped your college experience?”

Here’s what he told us:

I was in a fraternity at URI, most of my free time was spent fishing or hiking and when the weather was nice I was at the beach as much as possible.

Next, we talked to James, who attended Kean University, located in Union, New Jersey.

James shared, “My favorite activity to participate in was a tradition that my friends and I had. We used to have group study sessions before each important test. It not only helped us on the tests but also helped us socialize and meet new people!”

Another employee, Brian attended Rider University, right in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.

Brian told us that one of the biggest changes for him was living alone for the first time.

“I was lucky to be able to enjoy the freedom and the lifestyle of the real world, without having to pay all the bills.”

Next, Hassan, a graduate of Brooklyn College, the City University of New York told us all about his time as president of the Stock Trading Club.

He was also on Brooklyn College’s Varsity Soccer Team.

“Playing soccer against other colleges was the most exciting experience because I used to promote the games in the clubs and increase our fans number that watched the game.”

And lastly, we spoke to Francis, an alum of Stony Brook University located, who told us about how much his suitemates shaped his college experience.

He shared, Whether it was playing video games, watching sports, playing sports, or just finding fun things to do. I always enjoyed that bonding experience.”

Regardless of their different experiences, majors or schools – all four of these individuals are instrumental in the work we are doing at Atlantic Solutions. We are so glad to have them as part of our team and we hope you enjoyed learning a little more about the people we are proud to call a part of our team.

Atlantic Solutions Team Leaders Attend Prestigious “Top Gun” Seminar [PART 3]

Welcome back! To learn more about Atlantic Solutions team leader Hassan Wehbeh’s career-shaping weekend in Los Angeles, California at the Top Gun conference, check out the finale of our interview below:

What was your favorite part of the event?

Definitely meeting all of the “Top Gunners,” and just connecting with them. Top Gun picks the top guys from companies in the United States. Depending on the size of the company, they can pick one, two, or three people. We have a pretty big office, so they picked three from our office: Nick, James, and me. People are chosen according to the quality of their work and the production that they bring.

Can you describe the schedules of the days you were there?

We were treated like rockstars! An entrepreneur named Julie set up everything: breakfast, lunch, dinner, fun, social, bars and nightlife, everything. It was a blast. Everything waQuote3.pngs paid for! On the first day, we had dinner with Julie and all of the other Top Gun people. So we got to hang out with the top crew of the organization and connect with each other. The next day we had a full day, we woke up at 5:00, left the hotel at 5:45 and we got to the client broker’s office at 7 am, where we had breakfast. After that, we headed to the location and they had a set list for us of what we were going to do, who we were going to talk to, and all of the workshops. The client broker’s team spoke on what they think about us. They knew each one of us and our background! They were very knowledgeable about who we were. They would ask what our names were and we’d tell them and they’d say, “Oh you’re awesome for all these reasons.” They were open to hearing what we think about them, and how we think they can get better because at the end of the day their system is based on us. The more we grow, the faster they grow.

We sat with our client broker’s CEO, I finally got to meet him! He’s a legend in our office, everyone talks about him. After that, we went to dinner and then we went to a rooftop bar. There was even bottle service! Our flight wasn’t until the evening on Saturday so they set up a full day for us. We went to the beach and rode bikes on the boardwalk and then we went on a tour of all of the celebrities’ houses. After that, we had all you can eat sushi which put us in a food coma. Then we went back to the hotel and got ready to head back.

Congratulations to Hassan and the other two Atlantic Solutions team leaders picked, we’ll keep an eye out for all of your future achievements!

Atlantic Solutions Team Leaders Attend Prestigious “Top Gun” Seminar [PART 2]

In case you missed it, we’ve been chatting with one of the Atlantic Solutions team leaders who got to attend the exclusive three-day Top Gun retreat. Read more of our interview with Hassan Wehbeh below:

Quote2What kind of jobs did the other attendees have?

All of them work in some kind of leadership position. There were about 500 to 600 people that were considered, but only a few got selected. Those people have proven that they’re top notch at their jobs, above all of the other people. The people selected had all kinds of responsibilities. It’s pretty fascinating what they’ve achieved. Being picked isn’t easy. Every person there had a purpose for wanting to be at Top Gun, they wanted that one step forward. Nothing happens in our business by accident, when we set a goal, we act on it and we reach it. You don’t just lay back and wish for the goal to move a step closer.

What were some common qualities that you noticed among the people selected?

They were all friendly and willing to connect. We were all mostly trained in sales, which has a bad reputation. People don’t want to do sales. But our job is to make the sales process simple and easy to implement. This is something that unites us as leaders.

Who did you receive the one-on-one coaching from?

I scheduled a one-on-one with every single one of the coaches! There was one CEO of a big company that I didn’t get to meet with, but that’s the only one I didn’t have a one-on-one with. We had a group meeting with him, but I basically took control of the conversation and asked all of the questions, it was like me and him back and forth.

What were the workshops like?

They coach you as if you are about to manage a new office. They make sure that you’re well equipped to do that, even though you’re not there yet. You’ve already achieved the first step by reaching your position. They teach you to achieve even more.

Atlantic Solutions Team Leaders Attend Prestigious “Top Gun” Seminar [PART 1]

Whether you’ve heard of the US Navy’s Top Gun flight school or simply seen the classic 1986 film, you get the idea: an intensive training program for only the best fighter pilots in the Navy. Top Gun has the same idea: rigorous coaching to refine and produce the most elite sales personnel in the industry. Each year, the company hosts an exclusive three-day sales retreat in Los Angeles, California for 35 of the top sellers from businesses across the country.

Out of 600 potential candidates this year, three of our team leaders here at Atlantic Solutions were selected for a weekend of wining, dining, networking, and learning from some of the leading businesspeople in his field. We caught up with one of the lucky individuals, Hassan Wehbeh, to get a look inside the career-shaping event:

Why do you think you were picked?

My presence in the office and the example of leadership that I set. I’m always trying to bring something new to the table. Our business requires us to be creative because we have a system and we work that system. That’s the foundation: how you make that system work, how you can use your personality differently in the system. You have to keep becoming better every day, and I think that’s something that I was picked for because I focus on team production and numbers a lot. I’m a numbers guy. I was in finance and investment before I jumped into this. It’s about how you can actually make the numbers work for you because numbers explain everything. So being able to recognize numbers and work off of numbers is key for production. I do that every day, and I show other people how to do it.

What are your responsibilities as a team leader?

As a team leader, you have to always set the example. This job relies a lot on your mentality, ambitions, goals. Our goal is to develop managers who have an entrepreneurial mindset. “Entrepreneur” sounds very broad, but it’s really the attitude that allows you to be able to take on multiple challenges. My responsibility is basically to be the front and the back of the team. I have to drive production as an entrepreneur, I have to drive the money factor behind the business and always be productive. Another responsibility is that I have to push my Quote1peers to become better every day. Me being picked for Top Gun, or whoever is picked for Top Gun has something to do with how we work as a team, that’s our culture. We would not become anything if we couldn’t rely on our team. It’s my responsibility to hold my team accountable for whatever they want to achieve. Their goals are my goals. I have to ensure that they actually reach their goals. I have to be able to maintain personal and professional responsibilities. I have to make sure that my team members also realize and act upon their responsibilities, instead of laying back and waiting for someone else to complete that responsibility. We feed off of what people achieve.
